A great Facebook campaign
I'm always being asked what kinds of things businesses can do to get more fans on Facebook. And there are some small things - posting signs in your lobby, putting the link at the bottom of follow-up emails or newsletters, asking your friends, posting patient before and after photos and asking the patient to share with friends and family, and more. But I recently had a client do something really neat with their Facebook page and they had GREAT results from it.
Woodlands Premier Dentistry is located near Houston, Texas. Every year, Dr. Scott Young gives away a smile makeover to someone in the community. This year, he decided to take that giveaway to his Facebook page. First, his office collected nominations and suggestions from patients about who they thought deserved a smile makeover. Then, they picked 4 finalists for the contest. Next, they took it to Facebook. Using a new photo album, they posted a picture of each finalist and a description of why they should get the makeover. From there, they asked fans to vote on who should win. In order to vote, people had to "like" the page and vote on the wall once by a certain date and time. They have also promised after photos will be posted on the Facebook page!
The response was huge for Dr. Young's office! They went from around 300 fans to over 1,500 in just a few weeks! Now they have a huge Facebook audience to broadcast to and a large number of potential new patients have been exposed to their office in the best way possible. Imagine if you could be exposed to that many new people in such a positive light!
Think about how you could use this idea for your own Facebook page - and give your account manager a call to discuss it!
